In November, Chesterton Community Sports College hosted our first Careers and Revision evening. Year 10 and 11 pupils and their parents were invited along to the important event.

Colleges, providers and local companies came along to offer advice and guidance to our pupils. Year 10 and 11 have been learning about their Post 16 pathways and options in PSCHE sessions and this has given the pupils a positive outlook. Their aspirations are high and the evening helped to encourage this further. Pupils and parents were given opportunities to ask questions, gather information and take away prospectus’.

Alongside the careers focus of the evening, revision workshops were held to assist pupils (and their parents) with the planning and organisation of their revision in the run up to their mock exams next month. Timetables were given and ideas to help with revision were provided. This part of the evening was held in our library and was full of parents asking for guidance. Miss Bailey, who organised this section, was overwhelmed by the attendance at the event and was happy to answer all questions and give advice where needed (along with Miss Torr and Miss Moscati from our Teaching and Learning Team).

Some pupils were also given the opportunity to fill in applications and write CVs whilst parents and teachers were on hand to help out. This proved to be an extremely useful part of our evening as Mr Kelsall gave invaluable advice and support to those needing it.
