As part of the new Health and Social Care GCSE course students have been learning about the types of services provided such as healthcare, social care and early years. In addition to this, students have learnt about the sectors that services fall into.

This week, students have been researching the services within the Newcastle-Under-Lyme area, and specifically looked at the services provided within Chesterton. To conduct the research students have used their iPad, and a range of publications from different organisations. After conducting the research, students have plotted them onto maps of the area so they can clearly see the availability of services in their local area.

One student commented “I didn't realise we had all these services close to us, so it has been really useful to research them. I could now even tell people about where to find different services if they needed them”
