'Photography: Life Thru' a Lens' provided the partaking pupils with the opportunity to explore the medium of photography whilst learning and developing skills in the editing area. Throughout the week, different genres of photography were undertaken and in groups, they set out to snap that perfect shot.

Monday saw 'Still Life and Close Ups' as the target genre and their editing skills proved fabulous when picking out colours and adding effects.

Tuesday was portrait and modelling. Children donned their best clothes and we were lucky enough to have a professional photographer in with us from The Sitting Room in Butt Lane.  She gave the pupils a masterclass in using cameras, staging sets and taking professional photos. The results were spectacular!

She also advised on Photography as a career and spoke to individuals who were interested.

Wednesday was a  Landscape and Nature focus which saw the children using the beautiful surrounding as their inspiration. Using their newly developed editing skills, they produced some truly fantastic pictures.

Thursday focused on the Reportage genre where their focus was themselves!

Friday was the portfolio focus. Pupils spent the day working with the print outs of their photos  and compiling their portfolios and creating something that they can take home forever. The outcomes were fantastic and some of the pictures literally outstanding.

Tyra Pearson in particular created a beautiful contribution to the whole week and her portfolio was voted most impressive.
