Once again pupils and staff have joined forces to raise money for the Salvation Army Toy Appeal. This yearly fundraising event has become very important to us, and one that we are very proud to be associated with.

'Give A Gift and Light Up A Life' .

This year we have raised an incredible £855. We thought that last year's total of £620 would be hard to beat but never expected anything like this amount. This means that there will be a lot more happy children in the North Staffordshire area on Christmas morning.

'Every child deserves to open a brand new present at Christmas'.

We achieved this magnificent figure by running lots of events in school over a four-week period: a raffle, a cake sale, cinema in the library, donations at our Remembrance Concert, a collection at the local Youth Club and the school choir sang to shoppers at Sainsbury's in Newcastle.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people and companies that very kindly donated some fabulous prizes for our raffle: Mr Carl Inskip (SCFC signed shirt and footballs), The New Vic Theatre, The Polite Vicar, Taybarn's, The Potters Wheel, McDonald's, Morrison's, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Asda, Mrs T Embury, Mrs J Hallam and Niamh Deaville.
