The MFL department led a five day visit to Barcelona, Spain during June 2014. It was the first ever Spanish trip for CCSC and twenty eight pupils from across years 7 to 10 took up this fantastic opportunity.

The flight from Liverpool to Barcelona was an exciting experience especially for many of the pupils who had never flown before. On arrival the group quickly settled into their base in the modern and well equipped Barcelona Youth Hostel.

The pupils had an action packed itinerary to make the most of their time in this fascinating Spanish city. They visited La Sagrada Familia, a huge unfinished Basilica by Antoni Gaudi which is one of the city's most iconic attractions. Park Guell with its gardens and unusual architecture proved very popular with the group, especially in the hot weather.

The group also visited Camp Nou, home of FC Barcelona and enjoyed some relaxation time on Barceloneta Beach. A walk along Las Ramblas, Barcelona's central boulevard, really gave pupils an insight into Spanish culture.

When pupils arrived back in the UK, tired but happy, after a late night flight, all agreed that it had been a fabulous and memorable trip.
