Recently Y10 pupil Lizzy Dunn and her father Mr Dunn (Science Teacher and Personal Development Leader) entered an open art competition at a local Hobbycraft store, Bridgmere.
 
The competition is open to all budding artists and takes the form of any medium of of art can be submitted. Lizzy entered a mixed media piece incorporating painting, decoupage, origami and stitch crafts entitled, ‘If I was a Tree'. Mr Dunn constructed a series of mini dioramas in/on miniature teacups entitled ‘Adventures in Teacup; Land, Air, Sea & Space’.
 
After a week of public voting Lizzy grabbed 3rd Place, whilst Mr Dunn claimed the 2nd place, narrowly missing out on the 1st place spot and entry in the national competition. Prizes consisted of vouchers at Hobbycraft which were speedily spent on materials ready for both of their next projects.
