Over the past week Year 5 pupils from across 8 local Primary Schools participated in 'taster days' here at Chesterton Community Sports College. The pupils enjoyed a morning of exciting and different sessions based on Key Stage 3 curriculum in Science, Humanities and Languages, learning new skills and knowledge such as experimenting with the chemical reactions of fireworks, hands on investigating the habitats of the Amazon rainforest and learning useful expressions and sentences in a variety of Languages.

After a tasty hot lunch from a selection in our cooking kitchen, pupils then got very active in the Sports hall with a 'Zumbathon' being lead by PE staff assisted by our Year 11 Sports Leaders! They enjoyed the competitive exercises and dancing ending with a cool down.

Pupils asked a variety of questions about moving to a High School, and the changes that they would face, before leaving us feeling reassured that their move up to High School would be smooth and less daunting.
They will all be invited to attend a similar day when in Year 6 this September to continue the transition experience.
