pupilsandschoolnameYear 6 Open Day at Chesterton Community Sports College was held on Thursday 25th September 2014.

More than 280 Year 6 pupils and their teachers from across 8 local Primary Schools enjoyed a day with us to experience High School life. Pupils followed a timetable of exciting and interactive activities covering Science, PE,  History, Geography, ICT and Modern Foreign Languages, learning a variety of new skills and gaining confidence mixing with other pupils and new teachers. Our Year 11 prefect ambassadors acted as excellent guides and helpers throughout the day, along with other skilled pupils.

Primary pupils enjoyed a choice of hot cooked meals at lunchtime from the school canteen and used our new outdoor decking area for lunch, which along with moving between rooms for their different lessons and trying out new activities, gave them a valuable taste of how a secondary school operates. Pupils had both an enjoyable and educational time at Chesterton Community Sports College and returned later that night with their parents for our very busy Open Evening. The whole school site was open for prospective parents and their children to freely tour our facilities and  meet and chat with both staff and current pupils.

A huge variety of interactive activities, plays, music and staff demonstrations where on show, plus a chance to watch a short film of the activities that had taken place during the day. Parents were greatly impressed with CCSC; the pupils,  staff, facilities and exam results.

GCSE results at Chesterton Community Sports College are excellent with over 70% gaining 5 or more A* - C grades including English and Maths over the last three years.

Parents wishing to tour the school during a working day are welcome to contact the school office on 01782 568350 or use our online contact form.
